An employability course supporting adults across South and West Fife has achieved a 100 per cent progression rate into further education.
The Step‑In Employability Course, delivered in partnership by Fife Council and Fife College, supported twelve adults facing multiple barriers to learning between September 2025 and January 2026.
Over 18 weeks, participants completed 162 hours of learning, combining accredited and non‑accredited courses including:
- food hygiene,
- emergency first aid,
- communication skills,
- digital learning, and
- outdoor activities.
All twelve participants have now progressed into further education and enrolled as Fife College students.
Cllr Sam Steele, vice-convener of the South and West Fife Area Committee, said: “This programme shows the real difference partnership working can make. Supporting people to rebuild confidence, develop skills and move on to sustained education is a fantastic outcome for learners and for our communities.”
The Step‑In programme forms part of wider Community Learning and Development activity supporting adults, families and young people across South and West Fife. Find out more about classes and activities at active.fife.scot/activities
