Charities who have benefited includethe Scottish Vintage Bus Museum, the Methil & District Sea & Royal Marine Cadets and Rural Skills Scotland (RSS).

The Scottish Bus Museum which is located at the M90 Commerce Park north of Dunfermline, houses over 100 buses alongside trains, a horse tram, and other fascinating exhibits. The museum, which opens to the public every Sunday from April to October, has received 12 church pews from the regeneration project.

Ten pews will be placed in the main exhibition hall, providing visitors with seating as they enjoy the displays, while two will be positioned at the on-site railway station. The museum team expressed their gratitude, noting that the donation will improve visitor comfort and enhance the overall experience.

The Methil & District Sea Cadets & Royal Marine Cadets, who provide young people with opportunities to develop skills through activities such as sailing, windsurfing, camping, and music, have received six church pews and additional furniture. These will be refurbished by the cadets and used for seating during training sessions, with two pews allocated to the changing unit for use after water-based activities.

The cadets highlighted how the donation will create a more functional and welcoming environment for their members.

Rural Skills Scotland (RSS), which has recently refurbished several of its buildings at Ravenscraig Walled Garden in Kirkcaldy to create a woodwork shop, teaching space and office, has received eight pews. These will be refurbished by students once the workshop opens and some will be used on-site. Others will feature as part of other environmental improvement projects which will benefit the wider community.

All of the organisations expressed their appreciation for the furniture, which will benefit people of all ages and contribute to the success of their community projects.

Convener of the Kirkcaldy Area Committee, Councillor Ian Cameron, said: "We’re delighted to see these items being reused in such meaningful ways. Supporting local charities through the regeneration project reflects our commitment to sustainability and community wellbeing."
