South and West Fife Area Committee agreed £40,053 to Warm Welcome small grant scheme.
The funding will support a small grants scheme to help community groups deliver Warm Welcome activities this winter. The scheme builds on the success of the past three winters, where local venues opened their doors to offer not just warmth, but also friendship, food and fun.
From movie nights and lunch clubs to board games and social cafés, the activities have helped reduce isolation and bring people together - especially during the colder months.
Groups will be able to apply for up to £5,000 to run their own Warm Welcome events. All applicants will need to show how the funding will be used and meet Fife Council’s governance standards.
Councillor David Barratt commented: “Warm Welcome has become much more than just a place to keep warm. It’s about connection, community and kindness. These small grants help local groups create spaces where people feel seen, supported and part of something.”
Over the past three years, 22 groups have benefited from the scheme. The Council will continue to support both new and returning groups to deliver meaningful activities that make a difference.
