Roadworks on Masterton Roundabout, Dunfermline

This winter, we’re investing £265,000 improving the road network in Dunfermline.

We’ll be resurfacing a section of Aberdour Road, Linburn Road and Masterton Roundabout, from Monday 12 January to Friday 20 February 2026.

Location

Masterton Roundabout is a busy, intersection of main roads in Dunfermline and these works will have an impact on traffic flow and possibly cause delays. To keep traffic flowing, we will be phasing the works using road closures, lane closures and temporary traffic lights.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation as we’re improving the road network in Dunfermline.

Works Programme

The work will be carried out in five phases.

Phase 1: Aberdour Road from west of Kerrisk Drive to Masterton Roundabout. A road closure will be in place and the diversion route will be via Queensferry Road, Carnegie Avenue and Masterton Road.

Phase 2 & 3: We will be working on quarter sections of the roundabout from Aberdour Road (West) into Masterton Road and Masterton Road into Aberdour Road (East). We’ll use lane closures and 4-way temporary traffic lights, with some traffic going counterclockwise around the roundabout.

Phase 4: We will be working on the north half of the roundabout from Aberdour Road (West) through to Aberdour Road (East). There will be a road closure on Linburn Road and 3-way temporary traffic lights, with some traffic going counterclockwise around the roundabout. Linburn Road will have a diversion route via Aberdour Road (East), Greenshank Drive and Trondheim Parkway.

Phase 5: We will be working on Linburn Road from Masterton Roundabout to Mckay Drive. There will be a road closure on Linburn Road. The roundabout will be back in action, but Linburn Road will have a diversion route via Aberdour Road (East), Greenshank Drive and Trondheim Parkway.
