Fife Council has started early planning work to help shape a new future for Kirkcaldy’s town centre and waterfront.
This is part of a bigger regeneration programme that aims to boost the local economy, improve public spaces, and strengthen community facilities.
While the Council is waiting to hear about funding from the UK Government, specialist consultants, Collective Architecture and Montagu Evans, are meeting with representatives from a range of local groups, organisations and business to explore what Kirkcaldy could look like in the future. They’re focusing on how the town centre, and waterfront can be improved in ways that are practical, sustainable and reflect the needs of the community.
This planning work will help guide future development and investment in the area. Although the wider regeneration programme is still at an early stage, there will be lots of chances for residents, partners, businesses and community groups to get involved over the next 18 months and beyond.
It’s an exciting time for Kirkcaldy — and while funding is still to be confirmed, the vision for a brighter, more vibrant town is already beginning to take shape.
