Parkgate Community Centre improvements

Parkgate Community Centre is set to undergo essential improvements thanks to funding support for a flooring upgrade.

The South and West Fife Area Committee has approved £12,555 from the Local Community Planning Budget to carry out essential flooring improvements at Parkgate Community Centre. The work will include the preparation, removal and replacement of floor coverings in the main hall, stage area and servery, as well as sanding the wooden floor and re-marking the badminton court.

Parkgate Community Centre is a vital hub for residents, hosting advice sessions, learning opportunities and events for community groups. It is one of four Community Assistance Hubs in the area, providing space for meetings, markets and social activities.

Without this investment, the condition of the flooring would affect the building’s appearance and its ability to accommodate bookings.

South and West Fife Area Convener, Councillor David Barratt, said: "Parkgate Community Centre is at the heart of local life, offering a wide range of activities and support services. This funding ensures the facility stays welcoming and fit for purpose for everyone who uses it.

“Investing in our community spaces is essential to keep them vibrant and accessible."
