News from South and West Fife Area Committee

The South and West Fife Area Committee met this morning (11 June 2025). Here's a summary of the decisions.

Aberdour Community Action Plan

Area Committee agreed to allocate £17,000 to support the creation of a community action plan for Aberdour and to address its key priorities.

A group of 16 residents in Aberdour came together in November 2024, to explore creating a community action plan. The group has been working with community development officers, identifying key areas for the plan, planning the workshops and developing a questionnaire to gather residents’ feedback.

The funding from Area Committee will help the group run the workshops, produce the questionnaires and deliver on some of the actions that will emerge from the consultation.

Cllr David Barratt, Area Convener for South and West Fife Area Committee commented: "This is a great example of community spirit and proactive engagement. The insights that will be gathered from the workshops and questionnaires will be invaluable in shaping a community action plan that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of Aberdour residents."

The consultation will take place during the Summer and a draft action plan will be available this Autumn.

Reducing the speed limit in Oakley and Comrie

Committee approved a Traffic Regulation Order proposal to introduce a 20mph speed limit for School Grove and Station Road Oakley. On A907 Oakley and Comrie, introduce a 40mph from Comrie to the existing 40mph at Blairhall.
