The City of Dunfermline Area Committee met this morning. Here's a summary of the decisions.
New 20mph roads and traffic calming additions
Committee approved the following Traffic Regulation Order proposals:
Linburn Road, Dunfermline - Introduce a raised table crossing point on Linburn Road to allow pedestrians to cross more easily as well as reduce the speed of traffic on approach to the mini-roundabout.
A823 Pilmuir Street, Dunfermline and Main Road, Wellwood – Introduce a 20mph speed limit due to the road’s proximity to Queen Anne High School.
Pittsburgh, Dunfermline – Introduce a 20mph speed due to the road’s proximity to Fife College and Carnegie Primary School.
New housing development to the northwest of Townhill Road, Dunfermline - All roads within the site will be 20mph and a raised junction will be installed on Townhill Road at the access to the housing site.
Woodmill Street and Woodmill Road, Dunfermline – Introduce a 20mph speed limit from 50 metres west of Blacklaw Road to the Woodmill street carpark due to the road's proximity to Commercial Primary School and St Margarets RC Primary School, Dunfermline City Train Station and Millhill Surgery Medical Practice
Main Street, Townhill – Introduce a 20mph speed limit the length of Main Street.
Area Convener, Cllr James Calder stated: "We’re backing these proposed Traffic Regulation Orders to increase road safety and address concerns raised by local residents.”
Budget requests
Link Church Community Support Coordinator - £10,000
The City of Dunfermline Area Committee agreed a contribution of £10,000 to Link Church for the continuation of a part-time Community Support Work Coordinator.
Contributing to this project will help Link Church support Dunfermline’s communities through a variety of projects - community cafe, café inc, sewing groups, refugee community support, warm coat project and bereavement group.
Cllr Calder stated: "We're pleased to support Link Church with a £10,000 contribution for their Community Support Work Coordinator. This funding will help continue vital services like the community café, the warm coat project and the bereavement group, fostering a strong and inclusive community."
