Following a public consultation with local residents, Fife Council has unveiled the new design for Netherton Gardens Park play area in Kelty.
The £100,000 play park is being funded by Fife Council and the Cowdenbeath Recovery Fund.
Over 40 people took part in the consultation and the final design takes on board their suggestions and choices.
The new design is made up of a variety of equipment which will mean there will be something suitable and accessible for everyone, including a combination swing, toddler train, 3-way see-saw, mushroom steppers, sensory play panels and somersault bars to name a few!
Councillor Linda Erskine, Fife Council Spokesperson for Communities, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation to let us know what they would like to see in the new play area. The new equipment will be suitable and is accessible for everyone. I look forward to work starting as soon as possible.”
Councillor Alex Campbell, Convener of the Cowdenbeath Area Committee added: “I’d like to thank the those who took time to have their say and I’m delighted we’re now able to move forward with the plans for the new play area.
“The feedback received has been invaluable in shaping a design that reflects the needs and wishes of local families. This new space will provide a safe and vibrant environment for children to play, explore, and interact, and we are excited to see it become a reality."
