Community Learning and Development (CLD) volunteers from across the Glenrothes area were honoured at a special celebration event that took place as part of this year’s Volunteers’ Week (2-8 June).
The event brought together volunteers from Youth Work, Adult Basic Education (ABE), Adult Learning, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), and Welfare Support to recognise their invaluable contributions to the local community. The evening showcased volunteers’ experiences and gave individuals the chance to meet other likeminded people. Volunteers were also presented with a certificate, and to cap off the celebration, took part in a vibrant colour run.
Councillor John Beare, Convener of the Glenrothes Area Committee, attended the event and handed out the certificates said: “Volunteers are the heart of our community. Their dedication helps deliver vital services and activities that make a real difference in people’s lives. This event is our way of saying thank you.
Kaysey Cathie, volunteer, added: "The event was great; I got to meet other volunteers and find out about volunteering in other parts of CLD. The colour run was also great fun.”
The celebration highlights the positive impact of volunteering and encourage others to get involved in supporting their community. If this is something you’re interested in, please call 01592 583474 or visit www.fife.gov.uk/volunteering
