Funding for Dunfermline’s Community Councils

The City of Dunfermline Area Committee approved a £50,000 funding pot dedicated to supporting local community councils.

This funding is part of Fife Council’s ongoing commitment to fostering community engagement and improving the quality of life for all residents. Dunfermline’s community councils are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to bring their innovative ideas to life.

Area Convener, Cllr James Calder said: "The City of Dunfermline Area Committee is dedicated to supporting our local communities. This funding will provide a valuable resource for community councils to implement projects that make a real difference in the lives of our residents.

“We look forward to seeing the positive impact these initiatives will have on our community."

Prior applications for funding from community councils have included improving green areas, developing seasonal events (local summer galas and Christmas parades), floral enhancements and grants to local groups.

Empowering our community councils allows them to address the specific needs and priorities of their locality, rather than relying solely on decisions made at higher levels.
