Volunteering is all about freely offering to do something and across the Kingdom, Fife Council’s volunteers are truly the heart and soul of our community. Their vibrant energy, selflessness, and dedication make a huge difference in the lives of people, both young and old.
Thanks to our volunteers, we have several successful community food projects, some of which are award-winning, that support the most disadvantaged in our communities. Their efforts ensure that everyone has access to nutritious food and a helping hand when needed.
Our youth projects are thriving because of the countless hours our volunteers put in. These projects provide a safe and engaging environment for young people, offering them opportunities that wouldn't exist without the dedication of our volunteers.
Our volunteers create welcoming spaces where local people can find friendly faces to talk to, fostering positive mental health and a sense of belonging.
As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2025, we want to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank each and every volunteer for their tremendous effort and the invaluable contributions they make to the Cowdenbeath Area. Our volunteers are the key to building stronger, more resilient, and influential communities.
Kaitlyn who volunteers at a local youth club, said: "Volunteering is a good opportunity to do if you want to work with children or get a chance of experiencing what it is like to work with young children. I really enjoy my role as a volunteer; it gives you opportunity in life. My advice would be to not panic and just go for it as it's amazing"
