Community invited to celebrate The Big Lunch at Lochore Meadows

The Big Lunch at Lochore Meadows

Fife Council’s Community Learning and Development Service, in partnership with Smart Play Network's Play on Wheels, along with a host of local organisations, is inviting residents to come together for a day of food, fun, and friendship at Lochore Meadows Country Park on Saturday 7th June 2025.

The Big Lunch event, which is part of the UK-wide initiative aims to strengthen community bonds and encourage people to connect with others in their area. The day kicks off at 10am with a range of free activities for all ages, including football, arts and crafts, outdoor games, and exploration activities. At 12 noon, families are encouraged to gather for a “bring your own” picnic to share a meal together in the beautiful surroundings of Lochore Meadows.

Cllr Alex Campbell, Cowdenbeath Area Convenor said:“The Big Lunch is a brilliant opportunity to get together, have some fun, and meet new people in a relaxed, welcoming setting. Events like this help build stronger, more connected communities – something we’re proud to support in this area. I’d encourage as many people as possible to come along and be part of it.”

The event is free to attend, but families are asked to book their place in advance by scanning the QR code on the event poster or by visiting www.fife.gov.uk/biglunch2025.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.
