A new community-led initiative is launching in Abbeyview, Dunfermline, to decide how £30,000 of funding from Fife Council should be spent in Abbeyview.
With support from Fife Council, local residents have formed a working group to lead the campaign and consult with the wider community on how the money should be used. The group is now inviting individuals, community groups and organisations to submit their ideas for projects that could make a real difference in Abbeyview.
Applications open on 14 Novemberand close on 19 December. You can apply online at our.fife.scot/abbeyviewdecides or pick up a paper application at Abbeyview Community Hub.
We’re holding a drop-in event on Saturday, 22 November at Abbeyview Community Hub, from 11am – 1pm to provide more information and offer help with completing applications.
Abbeyview Working Group said: “We’re excited to hear from the community and see what creative and meaningful ideas come forward. This is about local people having a real say in what matters most to them.”
Project ideas should aim to improve the local area and support priorities such as community wellbeing, outdoor spaces, tackling the cost-of-living crisis and building community spirit.
Cllr James Calder, Convener of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, added: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the people of Abbeyview to shape the future of their community. By working together, we can ensure this funding is used in ways that reflect local priorities and deliver real benefits.
"I encourage everyone with a bright idea to get involved.”
