Free activities for children and young people this Easter

The Easter holidays are almost here and for parents everywhere they’ll be wondering how they are going to occupy their children for the next two weeks. But most importantly, how they are going to pay for any activities.Photo of rabbit wearing pink sunglasses surrounded by Easter eggs and images of children sitting in a play tunnel, a man and woman having a cup of tea and a man and boy looking at a plant

That’s why Fife Council has put in place a full programme of free activities for children of all ages. In venues right across the Kingdom there’s something for everyone.

Councillor Linda Erskine, Spokesperson for Communities and Leisure, said: “Sport and physical activity are so important for our children and young people and being active in a social setting can be beneficial for their physical and emotional well-being.

“As a Council we recognise that the cost-of-living crisis continues and right now, many families can’t afford any kinds of activities for their children.

“The ongoing crisis is affecting everyone in some way, and for those who were previously just getting by it continues to be a major issue. We don’t want any of our children to miss out just because of a lack of funds. We invest in these programmes because we know in the long run they can benefit the wider society, as our children grow up happier and healthier. I’m looking forward to my grandchildren taking part.”

There are different free and low cost courses right across Fife, for children of all ages and to suit most interests. It couldn’t be easier to find out what’s on near you.  Simply visit active.fife.scot/easter2024 for locations and opening times. You can search by location or activity.
