Dalgety Bay - National Cycle Route 76 (The Bridges)

Stage Status: Preliminary design/consultation

At present, National Cycle Route 76 in Dalgety Bay uses a gravel path between Harbour Place and The Bridges. The path is narrow and extremely steep, and many people cannot use the path. It presents a barrier to those with mobility disabilities, whether walking, wheeling, or cycling.

It is proposed to realign the path locally to provide a well graded gentile incline, which is suitable for everyone. The path will be widened to approximately 3.0m, with a bituminous surface and grass verges.

  • Timeline: The construction work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2024.
  • Distance: 80m approx.
  • Approximate infrastructure investment: £40,000
  • Key features:
    • A new shared pedestrian/cycle track, approx. 3.0m wide, with grass verges
    • Lighting (to be confirmed)

If you wish to comment on the works, or need further information, please email: active.travel@fife.gov.uk.
