Crossford – Dunfermline Shared Use Path

Stage status: Design

This is a community-led project with our support. The proposed route will join Crossford to Dunfermline, connecting the western villages to the City of Dunfermline. This will provide access for walking, cycling, and wheeling. The project has completed the initial concept phase where several route options were considered.

Stage 2 was completed in 2025, with funding from Sustrans’ ‘Places for Everyone’ programme. This looked at the possible routes and gathered community and stakeholder feedback. The A994 between Crossford and Dunfermline is the preferred route, rather than options to the north or south.

The next step in the project is to advance detailed design work. This will include in-depth surveys of the area.
