Privacy Notice

This Privacy Notice explains how we use the information that we collect about you.

Fife Council uses the personal information provided by you within your Assisted Collection application form, your Extra Capacity application form and your Holiday Let Waste collection form, in order to process your application.

We have a statutory function to carry out Domestic Waste Collection and we process these application forms in terms of Section 45 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

The personal information we gather and use includes name, contact details and date of birth.

We also require medical information.

We obtain information about you from publicly accessible sources such as National Records for Scotland and the voters roll.

In the event that we did not request and use this information then it would not be possible to carry out our statutory functions.

The Council will not keep your information for longer than is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept. The Council has a retention schedule which sets out how long we hold different types of information. The retention schedule can be found on our Privacy policy page.
