The Fife Lieutenancy office will use the information provided by you in order to progress any correspondence you send to the Lord-Lieutenant or his Deputies. Under Data Protection Legislation, the office (administered via Fife Council) is known as a data controller. This means we have to handle and process your personal information appropriately in order for us to fulfil our duties.

The personal information that we gather and use may include your name, contact details, specific dates and any information relating to your requests to us.

We will keep your information for as long as necessary to progress your enquiry.

The Council will not keep your information for longer than is necessary. In some instances the law sets the length of time information has to be kept. The Council has a retention schedule which sets out how long we hold different types of information. The retention schedule can be found on our Privacy Policy page.
