Annual Canvass

An illustration of a document with a green checkmark and text lines, magnified by a magnifying glass. The Electoral Commission logo appears in the bottom left. On the right, a message reads 'YOUR VOTE MATTERS DON'T LOSE IT' next to a ballot paper icon

We’re contacting all households in Fife between August and October to make sure that the electoral register is up to date. We do this every year.

You might receive an email, a letter or a phone call from us about this, or someone might knock on your door.

When you receive your letter or email, just follow the instructions and get back to us as soon as you can so we know you’re registered and ready to vote at the forthcoming Scottish Parliament Elections due to be held on Thursday 7 May 2026.

If you have supplied us with an email address, you will receive an email rather than a letter asking you to confirm the household details at your property.

The easiest way to respond is to visit the website www.registersecurely.com/fife to make your response – this is a secure website. You will be asked to enter your unique security code included in your communication from us.

You can also respond by calling 08000 488 644.

Most households will only need to respond to communications if there have been any changes in the household. However, some households will be asked to reply even when there have been no changes. Your communication from us will tell you exactly what you need to do.

Adding an individual’s name in your response does not add them to the register automatically; they will need to register to vote separately. They will receive an Invitation to Register from us to complete and return to register to vote. Alternatively, they can go online and register at www.gov.uk/registertovote.

If you receive an error when making an online response, please contact us at voters.roll@fife.gov.uk for assistance.
