CrowdFund Fife

We have teamed up with Crowdfunder to support non-for-profit community groups and organisations in Fife.

You could get an extra cash alongside what you raise from the crowd if your group or organisation fits with the criteria of this fund.

    Who can apply

    This grant is open to non-profit making constituted local community groups who

    • meet the areas Local Community Plan priorities/areas of focus - Let's Talk Local Plans
    • work for and with local people in Fife’s communities

    Who cannot apply

    You're not eligible if you're:

    • part of a community group operating outside Fife
    • an organisation running an event associated with sectarian or political marches, protests, processions or any event deemed divisive
    • an organisation with 'closed membership' except where membership is restricted for legal or specific reasons
    • running a project where financial gain goes to individuals
    • looking for 'in kind costs'
    • providing a service that you have a legal responsibility for

    You also cannot apply if you have already received a Crowdfund match in the last 12 months

    Eligible work

    Projects could include:

    • small capital works to improve your community
    • local events that bring people out of their homes - Men’s Shed, Tea Dance, for example
    • regeneration of your local area
    • pilot projects that trial alternative ways of working
    • buying new equipment, materials, or gain new expertise
    • a technical study if you are developing a new facility or service
    • intergenerational projects – encouraging different generations to work together

    Criteria

    To be eligible to apply, your project must be set up in Crowdfunder as a 'keep what you raise' or an 'all or nothing' project.

    Calculation of award

    All projects will be assessed to determine which will receive extra funding. You will be informed whether your application has been successful or not.

    Any local voluntary group can use Crowdfund Fife to raise funding for a community project idea. Community groups must complete an application and meet the defined criteria.

    The council can help with up to 50% of your group's target amount but no more than £2,000.

    Your group should secure 15% of your target amount and 10 unique pledges from the ‘Crowd’. This shows that the project is well received within your community.
