The Communities Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund provides grants to local organisations to foster wellbeing for adults.
Key resources include:
- Link Life Fife for emotional and practical support
- The Well for community-led, drop-in advice
- local peer-support groups, such as Pete’s Man Chat
The focus is on empowering individuals to manage their own mental health through community connection rather than just clinical, statutory intervention.
The funding supports projects that combat loneliness, promote physical activity, and provide educational resources, such as Sleep Well courses.
This Fund is now in its 6th year. It will be available from September 2026. Details can be found on the Fife Voluntary Action website.
Who can apply
It's aimed at third sector organisations who can evidence a contribution to mental health and wellbeing. Most of the funding will be prioritised for grassroots organisations turning over less than £1m.
You can apply whether or not you have received a grant or applied for a grant in Years 1 to Year 5.
There are no size restrictions for organisations. Most of the funding will be prioritised for smaller organisations (turning over less than £1m), but anyone can apply.
Who cannot apply
We cannot fund for gaps in your budget. The grant is to fund additional activity or enhance existing activity.
Eligible work
The grant is for grassroots projects that will benefit at-risk/priority groups in local communities in Fife. The Fife Voluntary Action website can give you a list of examples.
We will consider projects for communities of interest that are spread across Fife. Grant awards are mostly for revenue activity, but we can consider applications that include up to £5,000 for capital costs.
