There are two specific childcare grants available to out of school groups or organisations.
1. Out of School Childcare Grant
The grant is available to constituted, non-profit distributing voluntary groups or organisations providing an out of school childcare service. Community Councils are not eligible for this grant.
You can apply for up to a maximum of £2,000.
You are expected to show us that you're moving towards financial stability, without the help of grants from Fife Childcare Services.
Eligible work
The grant is available to support running costs, for example rent and staff wages.
Criteria
You must meet the following criteria:
- your organisation must have a clear management structure, for example a management committee who have been democratically elected
- you must be registered with the Care Inspectorate
Calculation of award
When making our decision to award the grant, we will consider the scale of the project, your business plan, and the demand for services in the local area.
Your request must be supported by:
- an application form
- a business plan, containing details of your organisation's structure, the local market, and any competition
- financial forecasts for at least one year, consisting of detailed cash flows, profit and loss accounts, and balance
- business accounts for the previous two years
- latest management accounts

2. Out of School Transport Grant
The grant is available to constituted, non-profit distributing voluntary groups or organisations providing an out of school childcare service. Community Councils are not eligible for this grant.
You can apply for a maximum of £4,000.
You are expected to show us that you're moving towards financial stability, without the help of grants from Fife Childcare Services.
Eligible work
The grant is available to Out of School Clubs to meet the costs of all duties whilst transporting children from the school to the Out of School Care Club.
Criteria
You must meet the following criteria:
- your organisation must operate a Transport policy that has been approved by us
- any subcontractors you use must have the appropriate operator’s licence approved by us
- all drivers must have undertaken an enhanced Disclosure Scotland check
Calculation of award
Your request must be supported by:
- copies of all invoices relating to your transport, including those of your subcontractors
- a business plan demonstrating your need for the grant
