The school’s vision and values are reflected in the aims of the school and are summarised thus: Our school vision is to offer a wide curricular experience in which we provide opportunities to excel, taking advantage of the richness of our context and the support from strong partnerships with parents and the wider community; resulting in all pupils achieving positive destinations and a fulfilling future.

Our values of Respect, Responsibility, Ambition, Kindness and Equality can be seen across the school in the actions and interactions of all staff and pupils. Our school motto ‘Be the best version or you each day’ helps guide us in our actions, responses and decisions to fulfil our aspirations and achieve all that we can.

Peer support, teamwork, growth mindset and independence are integral to our wide curricular approach. We utilise the outdoors and the wider community to enhance curricular delivery where appropriate and active learning approaches support the acquisition and consolidation of concepts.

Our pupils participate in school committees which work to support and enhance the school. Amongst others, our school works in close partnership with Active Schools Strathkinness Community Council Strathkinness Community Development Trust Guardbridge Primary School and the wider cluster of Madras College St Andrews University

The school is an old stone building, circa 1850. This main building houses 3 classrooms and an office. A fourth classroom is in a separate building and the dining room is in yet another separate hut. There is a tarmac and soft pore playground.

A playing field at the end of Church Road also belongs to the school and can be used for PE, sports and games in good weather. Otherwise the Village Hall is used for PE. Within the grounds, there is a small wildlife garden and we have access to the local Community Garden.
