St. Marie’s Primary School was opened to pupils in 1975. It is a denominational, co-educational school.

The school building has 14 classrooms, games/dining hall and office accommodation. There are 3 general purpose areas, which are used for play and I.C.T work. Expansive tarmac areas are used for play and a wide range of play equipment is available for use in these areas. The grassed playing fields are used for play and sports in the summer  months.

St. Marie's RC Primary is a happy school, where children are treated with dignity and respect and where Gospel Values are at the heart of our school family. Every  child in St. Marie's is very  important  to us and we strive for excellence by  developing each person's God given talent.  We aim to support the Charter for Catholic Schools and to create a learning environment that is safe and caring and where children are encouraged to reach their full potential.

We recognise the importance of  working in partnership with parents to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.

Pupils in P4-7 are being taught to play the violin. Youth Music Initiative teach P5 pupils Guitar and Penny Whistle. We have one full time and one part time Support  for Learning Teacher.

The Friend’s of St. Marie’s is a very active organisation which organises successful social and fundraising events throughout the school session. The Pupil Council has representatives from P1-P7 and meets 2/3 times each term to discuss concerns and issues raised by the pupils.

A residential programme at Dalguise is offered to P7 pupils. Our pupils participate in football and netball tournaments, running events and Fife Festivals of Music, Dance and Drama. We make effective use of the local environment.

We are always pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspects of our school. We hope that all children will spend many happy, rewarding years in this school, and we feel that a close partnership between home and school is the best way of achieving this.
