It is vital that success is celebrated regularly, and that everyone has high expectations of themselves and is given the opportunity to obtain excellence. The school strives to encourage a participative culture in which children have a clear voice and where they are encouraged to be responsible citizens, showing respect for themselves and others. This vision is shared and discussed with all, to enable us to feel valued, to give us a goal to aspire to and measure success by.

Pathhead was built in 1991 after fire destroyed the original building.

The school is a bright, well maintained, single storey building with disabled access. There is accommodation for 13 classes arranged round open-plan areas with four internal courtyards.

The courtyards provide seated and garden areas. They are planted out to provide further environmental education opportunities.

There is, medical room, staff room, library, additional support needs base, large gym/dinner hall and a community lounge with kitchen.

The school is surrounded by a tarmac playground with raised beds, painted games and modern trim trails. It has achieved ECO Schools Green Flag status.

Our Nursery has been decanted for a year so that a new purpose built nursery can be made.

We promote the wearing of school uniform, and most children wear uniform every day.

Our uniform can be purchased locally from the National Schoolwear Shop, High Street, Kirkcaldy. We also have school ties available at the office.

For Physical Education we ask parents to provide gym shoes, shorts and tee-shirts. Slip-on gym shoes are preferable for younger children. Similarly, items such as earrings should not be worn during a PE lesson, as these can be dangerous.
