Parental engagement at our school is rooted in strong, collaborative relationships with families. We have an active Parent Council that contributes meaningfully to school improvement, alongside open, two‑way communication that ensures parents feel informed, involved and valued. Working together, we support learners to achieve their full potential through shared expectations, partnership working and regular opportunities to engage in learning. Our school community comes together for events, celebrations and fundraising activities that strengthen connections and enrich the experiences of all our pupils.

Largoward Primary School celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2002. The school building is
Victorian and, unusually, has an Ordinance Survey bench mark actually placed within one of
the outside walls. It indicates the school is 600ft above sea level. This has advantages in the
form of spectacular vistas around the village but disadvantages as being too exposed in the
event of bad weather.
The main building houses two classroom areas, a small dining room, cloakroom area,
staffroom and office. The playground area has a multi purpose pitch area and the school has a small garden. Produce from the garden is used to facilitate science projects and baking
enterprises. We use our rural environment to enhance the curriculum.
The school day begins at 9.00am and finishes at 3.00pm.
Morning break: 10.40am-10.55am
Lunch: 12.35pm-1.20pm
School uniform is an effective way of enabling an inclusive and positive ethos around the school. It allows the children to feel the same as each other and helps them identify positively as a school team.
