Kelty Primary School is a school in which:-

• Pupils have the opportunity to complete 'Star Moment' sheets which can be added to their Learning Journeys.
• School achievements are celebrated at weekly assemblies and termly achievement assemblies.
• Children have the opportunity to achieve their Bronze, Silver, or Gold Award for respect and responsibility throughout the year.  This is part of a Beath Cluster initiative.
• All pupils belong to a house and collect house points.

Kelty Primary School is located in the main street of the village of Kelty.  Its catchment area includes the whole village and the surrounding landward area.  The associated nursery for pre-school children is Clentry Nursery and the associated secondary school is Beath High.  The original school, opened more than one hundred years ago, has been refurbished and now has a more modern extension to the rear.  Pupils and adults who have mobility difficulties can access the ground floor of the school.

At present, the school has 16 classes from Primary 1 - Primary 7.  Accommodation for pupils includes a hall for lunches and drama/PE.  There is extensive us of Technology for learning throughout the school.  School is wireless and netbooks are used throughout the school. There are various offices for clerical staff, Headteacher and Depute Headteacher.

We make good use of local amenities including Blairadam Forest and Lochore Meadows in order to enhance pupils' learning experiences.

Recent building work has seen the school link to the Community Centre. School has access to the games facilities within the building: dance studio, ICT suite, library and community kitchen.

Morning:      9.00am for P1-P7

Lunch:          12.20pm - 1.05pm - P3, P5, P7      12.35pm - 1.20pm - P1-2, P4, P6

Afternoon:   1.05pm - 3.00pm for P3, P5, P7 and 1.20pm - 3.00pm for P1, P2, P4 and P6

Interval:        10.40am - 10.55am for P1-P7

All Fife Schools must have a dress code that encourages pupils to dress in a way that is appropriate to attendance at school.  The dress code must not lead to direct or indirect discrimination on the grounds of race, religion, gender, or disability.  It is the expectation of the Education service that parents will support the dress code.

• Girls: Grey/black skirt/trousers, Yellow/Burgundy/White Polo shirt or white blouse, and school tie.  Maroon sweatshirt/cardigan.
• Boys:  Grey/black trousers, Yellow/Burgundy/White Polo shirt or white shirt, and school tie.  Maroon sweatshirt/cardigan.
• Dark shorts and a white T-shirt for PE.

A senior tie will be provided by the school for all pupils entering P7.
