Elie Primary School is situated on the main road in the picturesque East Neuk village of Elie.  Elie is a renowned holiday centre with golden beaches and rocky coves.  The village boasts an excellent water sports centre and provides an area of great interest on the Fife Coastal Path.  The school building is of both historical and architectural interest being over 100 years old and built of sandstone.  The main school building houses 3 classrooms, multi-purpose hall, resource area and office accommodation.  A controlled entry system operates on all external doors. Expansive tarmac and grassed play areas are used in the summer months.

Our aim is to create an ethos within the school environment where pupils, parents and staff work together in partnership to provide the highest possible standard of education for all pupils.

Instrumental tuition is offered in violin and viola to pupils in P5/6/7 provided they show the necessary potential. We have a Support for Learning teacher who is in school for one half day each week.

Our Parent Teacher Association is very active and organises many successful social and fundraising events. The school also has a Parent Council which campaigns vigorously for the benefit of the school.

The school has excellent links with the community at large. Events involving the school and the community are numerous and much enjoyed by all.

A residential programme is offered to P7 pupils in preparation for the transfer to secondary school. This involves all feeder schools to Waid Academy of which we are one.

Newsletters are sent to parents regularly to update them with what is happening in the school. In addition we are pleased to meet with parents who wish to discuss any aspect.
