Dunbog Primary School
- Primary School
Dunbog Primary School was built in 1839. It is a rural school nestling in beautiful countryside of North East Fife.
Our school has one main building, a separate general-purpose room and access to recently refurbished village hall. On entering the building you will immediately be aware of the welcoming school atmosphere. The entrance hall is brightly lit with well-presented wall displays exhibiting recent work produced by the children. A tarmac and grassed play area surrounds the school. We also have a school garden.
Our aim is to create an ethos where pupils, parents and local community is valued. Our recent school inspection report praises our ethos and commends the high standard of work achieved by all pupils. Our school team is made up of four teaching staff (teaching HT), janitor, secretary, learning support teacher and classroom assistant.
We have regular visits from Music, Drama and PE Staff. We encourage a team approach to decision making as we realise that :
T (together) E (everyone) A (achieves) M (more).
Our children reflect this positive school ethos and are caring, well behaved and motivated to produce their very best work.
Our Parent Council is very active and organises successful social and fundraising events. It also supports the school in curriculum changes. We have recently established a pupil council in school and the children enjoy being involved in the decision making process.
Our extracurricular programme includes football, hockey and gardening. During school time children are encouraged to learn a variety of musical instruments and organise assemblies to present to parents and friends. Annually we plan a residential programme for the P6’s and P7’s and regularly make use of the local environment to support a wide curriculum.
We are always pleased to meet with parents and pride ourselves in our well-established channels of communication.
