School roll: 28

The school was built in 1833, with the newer extension being added in the 1960s. The building consists of two classrooms, a dining area/general purpose room, office accommodation and a corridor linking the two classrooms. This is also used as a quiet study area.

Last session, we created a dedicated school library and were lucky enough to be supported by the National Literacy Trust’s ‘Library’s for Primaries’. They provided us with brand new books and furniture.  We have access to the village hall for PE, drama and school concerts.

Learning in and through the outdoors is important to us at Craigrothie, and we are lucky to be within walking distance of the woods on nearby Tarvit Estate.

There is a tarmac play area in front of the school and a school garden to the rear with a pleasant picnic area which is used in the summer months.

The School Day

• 9am to 3.05pm
• Morning interval - 10.40 to 10.55am
• Lunch break - 12.35 to 1.25pm

School Uniform

Craigrothie Primary School has a uniform policy of white shirt or polo shirt with school sweatshirt. Preference is to wear black skirt/trousers. School jumpers and polo shirts with the logo are available to order.

For gym we would appreciate if your child wears suitable sportswear and gym shoes/trainers. Pupils have two hours of PE each week, both indoors and outdoors.
