Collydean PS is an integral part of the community and we have many activities which embed this.

We care about our environment and wish to continue to improve it for all.

We are an Eco School, a Rights Respecting School and a Fair Trade School.

Collydean P.S. opened in 1981, it is situated in Northern Glenrothes with a catchment area which includes the housing areas of Collydean, Whinnyknowe, Balgeddie and Pitcairn. The building itself is single-storey, set in extensive grounds which consist of a large grass area with a football pitch, basketball court, trim trails, climbing walls, hard-standing areas for general play and an outdoor classroom.

There are two stand-alone buildings, one is a hutted accommodation, which accommodates two classes and the other is our nursery.

Classroom areas are of an open-plan design which is ideal for cooperative learning. The school is well equipped and well maintained, providing a safe, attractive environment for all pupils. There is also disabled access to main areas and toilet facilities.

Car parking is provided for Fife Council employees. Regrettably, due to health and safety considerations and lack of space, we cannot offer parking facilities for families. On-street parking is available outside the school and families are asked to park respectfully.

Where possible children are encouraged to walk or cycle to school.

Nursery 

• 6 hours daily (9.00 am - 3.00 pm)

Primary 

• Morning Session 9.00 am - 12.35 pm
• Afternoon Session 1.20 pm - 3 pm
• 1st Interval 10.40 am - 10.55 am
• Lunch 12.35 pm - 1.20 pm

If children are likely to be late home because of extracurricular activities or for any other reason, parents will be notified beforehand.

We encourage all pupils to wear school uniform as we believe it is important for developing positive attitudes, teamwork and a sense of belonging. Children are awarded House Points for wearing their uniform and House badge. All clothing should be clearly labelled with your child's name. School colours are as follows:

• Yellow polo shirts
• White shirt
• School tie (available to buy from the school office)
• Plain grey/black skirt or trousers
