The Primary School takes in children from the villages of Kemback and Pitscottie as well as the village of Ceres and surrounding area. The Nursery class also takes in children from the Craigrothie catchment area.
The original building, which is now the school hall, was built in 1836, with a substantial extension added in the 1960 s to give 4 classrooms and office accommodation on two floors. There are also a further two classes in hutted accommodation and a separate nursery. The school is to be extended next session.
The school has large grass playing fields and adequate concrete playground areas for wet weather. There is a wildlife garden and outdoor classroom area. There are also outdoor eating facilities, weather permitting.
At present the school has six Primary Class and two Nursery Classes. The Nursery Trust, run by the parents, runs a nursery lunch club where parents can buy extra time to extend the nursery day. There is also an after school club in the nearby village hall.
The children from our school transfer to Bell Baxter High School.
