Dear Parents and Carers,
I wish you a very warm welcome to our school. Canmore is a very happy place to be where the pupils show a great pride in their school and are eager to take on many different roles of responsibility and to represent their school in the wider community.
As a school we realise that every child is an individual and we feel very privileged to be given the trust and confidence of parents. We are eager to ensure that we put in place the correct programmes, structures and supports to allow your child to flourish and to reach their full potential with a positive growth mindset.
Our ultimate aim is for our children to achieve their potential and ‘Be the Best They Can Be’.
In Canmore we provide a wide range of educational experiences which enable all children to become:
Successful learners
Confident individuals
Responsible citizens and
Effective contributors
We believe that your child has a right to be educated within a safe and happy environment where children respect others and are respected. Our school values are at the heart of everything we do at Canmore. We strive to ensure our children can be the best they can be which is nurtured through our curriculum, the experiences and opportunities offered, and our school values:
Respect, Resilience, Responsibility
Our school values, revised in consultation with parents, pupils and staff of Canmore are on display in our foyer, classrooms and are at the core of school life. Our weekly Reconnectors celebrate examples in which pupils have demonstrated these which further promotes our positive community ethos.
We have a strong commitment to parent partnerships and there are many opportunities, both formal and informal, when parents can become involved in our school community and we hope that you will take the opportunity to participate in the variety of events that take place throughout the year.
Starting school is a big milestone in the life of a child and a parent. It is the most important first step on the journey of education. As such, it is important that these first steps are the right ones.
I look forward to welcoming you and your child to our school and the beginning of our partnership with you.
