Balmullo is a thriving community in the north east corner of Fife, equidistant from the market town of Cupar and the university town of St Andrews, also famed for golf and tourism. The school was built in the village in 1976 to accommodate the growing population.
Our school is circular in design with the school hall at its heart. This contributes to the culture of community which we foster. There are grassed and tarmac areas around the building for children's play, and games in the summer term. We are constantly working with parents, the Eco Committee and the Pupil Council to develop the school grounds to support our Environmental Studies programme. We recently planted a wildlife hedge around the perimeter of the school and developed a school garden thereby enhancing the grounds both environmentally and aesthetically.
In Balmullo Primary School we aim to create a happy, friendly and secure environment where everyone feels valued and is encouraged to give of his/her best. We consistently look for ways of involving children in taking responsibility for their learning by setting personal targets and evaluating their own progress. Parents are actively involved in aspects of school work through both the Parents Association and the Parent Council, and are invited to support us in a variety of activities, including our after-school clubs.
We are happy to meet with parents to discuss any aspect of the work of the school.
