Nursery roll: 23

The original school in Balmullo was closed in October 1976 when a new building was completed to serve the increasing school roll due to a new housing development.

The 'new' school opened on the 18th of October, 1976 with 86 pupils.

Our school is built to a semi-open plan, circular design, all on one level. This includes an attractive circular main hall where we hold our assemblies, school events and shows. The classroom spaces radiate out from the school hall. Each class has access to a wet area, toilets and a classroom door offering access to the playground areas.
We also have additional modular accommodation which is linked to the school and serves as our Nursery. This added accommodation also houses an out-of-school club, offering before and after school care.
We have ramp access to the school and Nursery.

The school is situated in the middle of a large playground and grassy area where there are good play facilities.  A wildlife hedgerow surrounds the perimeter of the school grounds and a school garden planted with fruit trees allows opportunities for outdoor learning. A trim trail , pirate ship and playhouse offers other opportunities for play in the playground, together with ‘quiet’ areas for socialising with friends.

The school also has use of a Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) adjacent to the school and sited in the village park.

Daily Timetable

School starts: 9am

Morning Break: 10:40am to 10:55am

Lunch: 12:35pm to 1:20 pm

School finishes: 3pm

If your child is late, they must enter the school via the main door and register at the school office before making their way to class.

School Uniform

We encourage all our pupils at Balmullo PS to wear their school uniform.

Our uniform consists of:

• red sweatshirt/ red cardigan with or without school logo
• white polo shirt with or without the school logo
• dark grey/black trousers, skirt or pinafore dress

Parents also have the option to purchase a red school jacket with fleece lining and school logo.

To help keep our school building clean and tidy, pupils are required to wear indoor shoes at school which can be gym shoes or non-marking trainers.
