About Woodend Wood

Area: 13 hectares

A large area of community woodland situated slightly apart from the main town, near Hill of Beath. It is predominantly a semi‑mature conifer plantation, with avenues and edges containing willows, small ponds, and wetlands. A network of blae/gravel paths crosses the area, providing pleasant opportunities to enjoy the woodland. These paths all follow edges lined with deciduous woodland. There are benches and nest boxes and the woodland appears to be well managed to promote biodiversity and encourage public access.
