About Gilvenbank Park
Area: 71 acres / 29 hectares
Gilvenbank Park is a large local park situated between a main road and 2 residential areas. Its landscape is mainly composed of mown grass, bordered and separated by blocks of semi-mature and mature woodland. Facilities are spread throughout the greenspace and include football pitches, changing blocks, play areas, and a network of lit tarmac paths that cross the park and connect to nearby greenspaces.
One of these paths forms part of the Fife Pilgrim Way—a long-distance route through Fife that begins in Culross and North Queensferry and ends in St Andrews.
There are blocks of mature woodland to the east and informal paths lead into this area. An old road forms the southern boundary with remnants of the original overgrown hedge. A well-equipped play area, together with MUGA and outdoor gym, has been constructed in the south-east corner.
