About Duloch Park and Calais Muir Wood

Area: 1,433 acres / 58 hectares

Duloch Park and Calais Muir Wood are adjacent to each other. Duloch Park was created around the year 2,000 as the public park for East Dunfermline. It is a large open space, with sports pitches in the southern part beside the leisure centre. The northern part has a pond and wetland area.

To the east of the park is Calais Muir Wood, which is dominated by birch trees. On the northern side of the wood is a 4,000-year-old Bronze Age burial tumulus.

The park and wood are home to various birds and animals, including red squirrels, roe deer, common toads, soprano pipistrelle bats, hedgehogs, tawny owls, woodcocks, grasshopper warblers, and song thrushes.
