Modern facilities. Flexible spaces. Open to the community.

Located at the entrance to St Andrews, Madras College Community Use offers a modern, fully accessible venue for sport, performance, learning and community events.

Opened in 2021, the building provides high-quality indoor and outdoor facilities available for clubs, organisations, businesses and individuals. Whether you're running a sports session, hosting a show, delivering a course or organising a community event, our flexible spaces can support you.

The Community Use entrance is located at the far end of the building via the revolving doors. Our team is on hand to support bookings and ensure your event runs smoothly.

Our facilities

Assembly hall

 A spacious, bright assembly hall with a polished light-wood floor in the foreground. In the background, rows of blue tiered seating rise toward the back wall. Seats up to 352 guests, making it ideal for ticketed events.
Technical support, including sound and lighting, can be arranged.


Games hall (4-Court)

Outdoor floodlit Astro pitches

Each pitch can be divided into three 7-a-side pitches for flexible hire options.


Gymnasium (1 court hall) x 2

 An indoor gymnasium with a polished light-wood floor marked with blue and white court lines. Wooden stall bars (Swedish ladders) and gymnastic ropes are mounted along a green-brick wall, with a white upper wall stretching to the ceiling. Dance studio

A bright, minimalist dance studio with a polished light-wood floor and high white walls. A long, continuous wall mirror with a wooden ballet barre runs along the left side. Square, recessed ceiling lights illuminate the space, and large windows with blinds are visible at the far end of the room. 

Purpose-built studios with mirrored walls.

Meeting rooms / classrooms

A bright, expansive library or study area featuring blue carpeting and multiple light-colored, uniquely shaped group tables surrounded by blue plastic chairs. Teaching kitchen

A large, modern home economics teaching kitchen filled with multiple individual white cooking stations. Each station is equipped with an electric stove, oven, counter space, and storage cabinets. In the background, there are wall-mounted microwaves, sinks, a washing machine, a flat-screen television, and various kitchen appliances. 

Fully equipped with 10 workstations.

  • Food Hygiene courses

Technical classroom

A spacious wood workshop and technical classroom featuring multiple heavy wooden workbenches, each equipped with integrated vices. Larger machinery, including band saws and drill presses, line the back and side walls. The room is brightly lit by overhead fluorescent panel lighting, with a series of large windows along the left side. 

Flexible space suitable for practical arts, crafts and technical activities.


IT / Learning suite

A school IT suite featuring rows of desktop computers with bright blue screens arranged along the back and side walls. Several long, light-wood student desks with blue chairs sit in the center of the room. The room has dark blue carpeting, white walls with educational posters, and windows at the far end. 

Equipped with approximately 20 Windows 11 PCs.

Large indoor social space (The Atrium)

A wide indoor atrium featuring a large, symmetrical central staircase leading up to a mezzanine level. The middle section of the stairs consists of wide, light-wood seating steps adorned with a vertical line of graphic school crests. Functional gray-carpeted steps with handrails flank both sides of the wooden seating. The surrounding area has open corridors and scattered student tables.

Station Park

Located adjacent to Madras College and at the gateway to St Andrews, Station Park is a versatile outdoor venue combining community sport, large-scale events and commercial event space.

Our proud home of community sport

Station Park is proud to be the home ground of:

  • Madras Rugby Club, including its Clubhouse facilities
  • St Andrews Colts
  • St Andrews and East Neuk Girls FC
  • St Andrews Annual Highland Games

The park supports grassroots and competitive sport throughout the year, providing high-quality outdoor playing space for local teams and visiting clubs.

Major event space

Station Park is also a key outdoor event location in North East Fife.

The event areas are regularly used by University of St Andrews event committees, including:

  • Kate Kennedy
  • FS (Fashion Show)
  • Star Fields

These annual student events bring large audiences and require flexible, well-managed outdoor space capable of supporting staging, temporary structures and event infrastructure.

The site has also been used for:

  • overflow parking during the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship
  • commercial productions, including Netflix
  • approved helicopter landings via licensed and approved providers

The designated end event space is an approved landing site for authorised helicopter operators, supporting high-profile visits and commercial requirements.

Flexible community & commercial use

Station Park offers two spaces which do not interrupt the ongoing team training and matches. These can be hired for:

  • community festivals and gala days
  • food markets and food & drink festivals
  • outdoor soft play zones (including upcoming World of Parties events)
  • craft fayres
  • temporary car parking
  • fairgrounds and touring attractions

Its prominent location at the entrance to St Andrews makes it particularly suitable for high-visibility events.

A growing outdoor destination

Station Park continues to evolve as a multi-use outdoor destination, balancing community sport, student life, commercial hire and public events.

Whether hosting grassroots rugby, a student festival, a food market or supporting national-level events, the space offers flexibility, scale and strong logistical access.

Madras College is well served by several bus routes, with the nearest stops a short walk away either on the A91 or Buchannan Gardens:

Route 99: Connects Madras College to Guardbridge, Leuchars, St Michaels, Drumoig and Dundee.
Route 42 A&B: Connects Madras College to Tayport and Strathkinness.
Route X59: Connects Madras College to Clayton, Dairsie, Cupar, Pitlessie and Glenrothes.
Route X24: Springfield, Balmalcolm, Kettlebridge, Muirhead, Dunfermline, Kincardine, Larbert, Cumbernauld and Glasgow.
Route 787: Connects Madras College to Auchtermuchty, Gateside, Kinross P&R, Halbeath P&R and Edinburgh Airport.

The nearest railway station is Leuchars, this is located 5 miles from Madras College, with connections to Edinburgh, Dundee and beyond.

From the stations, visitors can reach us by local bus or taxi.
