Welcome to Kennoway Primary Community Use

Putting the Community in the Centre

Kennoway Primary is one of only two primary schools that is currently open to the local community. Our family friendly school is the perfect place for everyone looking to partake in sports activities or host a special event. We also offer a variety of children’s classes.

Our facilities

Assembly hall

A bright, empty sports hall. The floor has many court lines. Benches line the far walls.

Our main hall is versatile and perfect for:

  • activity/fitness classes
  • birthday parties and discos
  • bouncy castles welcome
  • community and social events
  • futsal training
  • musical theatre/drama groups
  • netball
  • racket sports (badminton/short tennis/table tennis/pickleball) – free equipment hire is available

Annexe

The annexe is a smaller hall that can be sectioned off at the end of our main hall for smaller groups or meetings, or the partition can be opened to enlarge the space for events/activities as above.


Gymhall

An indoor sports hall with court lines. Basketball hoops and a football net are visible.

Our gym hall is ideal for:

  • dance/gymnastics classes
  • fitness/yoga sessions
  • football birthday parties
  • junior basketball/football/netball
  • martial arts groups
  • racket sports (badminton/short tennis/table tennis/pickleball) – free equipment hire is available

Astro

The astro is equipped with goals and perfect for recreational use, training or matches:

  • athletics, fitness sessions, football and rugby training
  • 5s matches
  • 7s matches
  • 9s matches
  • football parties
  • team sports and community fun days

We have two 7-a-side grass pitches with goals which can be hired for:

  • 5s or 7s matches
  • athletics, fitness sessions, football and rugby training
  • community events
  • fun / gala days

Community lounge

The community lounge is a welcoming space to enjoy a rest while your children are attending our classes. There is a small café and is also home to 5 PCs for public use.


Meeting rooms/classrooms

We also have a variety of classrooms/areas suitable for:

  • meetings
  • activity classes
  • private consultations
  • training sessions

Refreshments can also be provided upon request.

Active travel route and facilities

  • Walking and cycling paths: Kennoway Primary is accessible via several pedestrian pathways and cycle routes which connect the surrounding local areas.
  • Cycle parking: To encourage cycling, Kennoway Primary has a bike shelter which visitors are welcome to use.

Bus services

Kennoway Primary is well-served by a few bus routes which stop nearby, on Langside Drive or Manse Park, less than a 5-minute walk:

  • Route 43/43A: connects the Primary School to Windygates, Leven, Markinch and Glenrothes
  • Route 46: connects the Primary School to Kirkcaldy, Cupar and Dundee.
  • Route 48/49: connects the Primary School to Leven, Methil and Buckhaven
  • Route 41/41B: connects the Primary School to Kirkcaldy, Leven, Cupar and Dundee
  • Route X58/X60/X61: connects Kennoway to Edinburgh, Kirkcaldy and St Andrews (change at Leven)
  • Route 95: connects Kennoway to North East Fife (change at Leven)

The nearest bus stop is on Langside Drive, less than a 5-minute walk away. Alternatives include Manse Park or Kennoway Shops.

Rail services

The nearest railway station is Cameron Bridge at Windygates, which is located 2 miles from Kennoway Primary or Leven, which is 3 miles. From each station, customers can reach us by local bus and a short walk or a quick taxi journey.
