Fife Rural Development Fund (FRDF) is financed by the Scottish Government and is managed by the Fife Local Action Group (LAG).

The Fife LAG is responsible for all governance and funding decisions. They allocate grants to projects delivering benefit to communities in rural Fife.

Please note we are no longer accepting applications for the 2026-27 programme as the fund is now oversubscribed.

To qualify for funding, projects must meet at least one of the Fund's priorities for this year:

• rural community capacity building
• nature and climate
• health and wellbeing
• enhancing natural/cultural heritage and rural tourism and leisure

Who can apply

Any groups or organisations which are properly constituted. This includes:

• community groups
• charities
• community interest companies
• voluntary organisations
• not-for-profit organisations

Your project should be of benefit to the community. Applications are limited to one per organisation.

Grants of up to £15,000 will be available to projects approved by Fife LAG. In exceptional circumstances, grants of up to £25,000 could be considered.

Who cannot apply

You cannot apply for:

• existing work
• core costs
• management fees
• land property purchase
• existing staff costs
• any outstanding debt

Criteria

Funding is available mainly for revenue projects, with a small amount of funding available for capital projects. This is subject to Scottish Government confirmation.

Grant payments are made in arrears.

All projects must be completed, with final claims submitted by 28 February 2027.
