You cannot order birth, death, marriage and civil partnership certificates online from Fife Council at the moment.
How you order a certificate depends on when and where the birth, death, marriage, or civil partnership was registered.
Events registered between 1855 and 2024 (anywhere in Scotland)
If the event was registered in Scotland between 1855 and 2024, you must order your certificate online through Scotland's People.
Events registered in Fife during 2025 or 2026
If the event was registered in Fife in 2025 or 2026, you can either:
book a priority appointment at one of our offices to order in person- call our Customer Service Centre on 03451 55 00 77
Only call our Customer Service Centre for events registered in Fife in 2025 or 2026. We cannot process phone orders for any earlier events.
Cost
The cost of a birth, death, marriage or civil partnership extract from Scotland is:
- £10 within the first month of the registration;
- £15 after that
