This is the final step in becoming a British citizen. You must attend a citizenship ceremony and declare or affirm an oath of allegiance to the King and make the pledge of loyalty to the United Kingdom.

In Fife, we receive details of approved citizens directly from the Home Office. It can take at least one week after you receive confirmation of your British citizenship for Fife Council to receive your certificate and details.

Once we receive your details, we will book you onto the next available ceremony. We will email you an invitation around 1 to 2 weeks before the ceremony date.
