Proposed Amendments to the Council’s Scheme for the Establishment of Community Councils - Phase 1
NOTICE is hereby given, that Fife Council (hereinafter the ‘Council’), in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by section 53(1) of the above mentioned Act, proposes to amend the existing Community Council Scheme of Establishment in Fife.
The process by which the Council will consider to amend the Scheme will be carried out in accordance with the required statutory consultation process.

Following a special meeting of Fife Council on Thursday 17th September 2026 Councillors agreed to move to the first stage of consultation on a partial review of the Scheme of Establishment for Community Councils in Fife.
The first phase of consultation is now underway, running from Monday 21 September to Friday 20 November 2026.
This stage invites members of the public to share their views on the proposed amendments to section 13 of The Scheme.
Any person or organisation wishing to make written suggestions or representations may do so by no later than 5PM on Friday 20 November 2026 by;
- filling in the form on the Have Your Say – consultation pages www.fife.gov.uk/ccreview2026
- emailing direct to cc.consultation@fife.gov.uk; or
- writing to the Head of Legal & Democratic Services, c/o Business Support, 5th Floor West, Fife House, North Street, Glenrothes KY7 5LT.
