From engineering to sustainable transport planning, there are a range of roles that help manage and maintain the roads and path networks and transportation infrastructure throughout Fife.
The Roadworker post provides the opportunity to work within one of our Maintenance Teams based in Dunfermline or Glenrothes.
The post covers a wide range of road and footway maintenance activities including assisting in the delivery of a 24/7 emergency service throughout the year. Key tasks will include tarring, kerbing, drainage, street lighting, excavation and installation of street furniture. Support with training and development opportunities including the possibility of LGV training to allow you to take part in our winter maintenance gritting.
You should have experience of working in the roads and / or building industry and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
The Transportation Officer post provides the opportunity to join the Council's active and sustainable transport section, based in Glenrothes, with blended home working available.
The post holder will help to ensure the effective development, implementation and operation of sustainable travel policies, projects and infrastructure in Fife. You will be able to provide technical support and assist in the development, implementation, management and promotion of Fife’s active and sustainable transport network, ensuring it is fit for purpose, safe for users and that its condition is managed, maintained and improved. Responsible for project management of infrastructure schemes, policy development, submission of funding bids and community engagement.
You should have experience and knowledge of climate challenges, public health issues, roads legislation, construction practice and be a good communicator.
Parking Attendants help manage on- and off-street parking. You’ll patrol areas, issue penalty charge notices, assist the public and ensure parking regulations are followed.
