A student placement provides an opportunity for a full time student to gain practical work experience in their chosen field of study. The placement will normally take place immediately prior to the final year of under graduate study, although a placement earlier in the academic course would also be possible.
The post will provide an opportunity to work within a large Planning Authority dealing with a varied caseload of applications whilst rising to the challenge of creating great places for the people and businesses of Fife. The varied workload and range of activities within the Service mean that there’s a real opportunity to expand your range of experience.
Opportunities are available for postholders to be involved in areas like policy development and project delivery, and to gain experience of specialist areas such as archaeology, built heritage and climate change. You must be actively engaged in a full time course of study leading to a qualification at degree level in town planning or a related discipline.
The Graduate Planner post provides a great opportunity for a graduate to gain experience of a wide range of activities across the teams within the Planning Service. The successful candidate will be dealing with planning applications for a varied range of development types and contribute to the progression and monitoring of the development plan.
Over the 2 year term, the successful candidate will be supported in the completion of their logbook to demonstrate professional competencies in support of their application for Chartered Membership of the RTPI.
You must be a Licentiate Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) and educated to degree, diploma or equivalent in Town and County Planning.
