Our actions

Fife Council is working closely with Fife Health & Social Care Partnership, NHS Fife and Health Protection Scotland to monitor and respond to the national situation.

Different services and government agencies are responsible for leading different parts of our response:

  • Department for Health & Social Care: the Chief Medical Officer confirms each incident
  • Health Protection Scotland co-ordinate the response, information and advice on the Coronavirus (Covid-19)
  • NHS: local and national NHS services are working to test individuals, and provide advice through calls to NHS 111
  • Fife Council works in partnership with these agencies to help Fifers stay informed, safe and well

We’re actively communicating the latest public health information and advice to:

  • councillors
  • council staff
  • residents
  • schools
  • businesses
  • community groups
  • media

As an emergency responder, Fife Council always prepares and plans to deal with the consequences of incidents. Find out more about the council's responsibilities and different types of resilience planning on our Ready Fife pages.
