H.S.E. Emergency First Aid at Work

first aid box Fife Council's Community Use Schools provide a number of HSE Emergency First Aid at Work courses throughout the year. The course will be available either as a full day course or part time on a number of days/evenings.

The courseĀ is designed to include the following:
Understand the role of the first aider
Understand the importance of basic hygiene in first-aid procedures
Assess the situation & circumstances in order to act safely, promptly & effectively
Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious and/or in seizure
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR
Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding and/or in shock
Administer first aid to a casualty who is chocking
Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries

The course cost is £50.00 and has been approved for Individual Learning Account (ILA) funding. Through Skills Development Scotland, you may be eligible to apply for an Individual Learning Account giving you up to £200 to spend on learning or training. ILA's are for people who are 16 or over and living in Scotland. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less or be on benefits to be eligible.

If you are not in education, do not have a degree or above and are not taking part in a National Training Programme (Modern Apprenticeship, Get Ready for Work or Training for Work) you can apply for an ILA.
