As we get older our needs can change.
Housing support
Our housing team can help you if you have short-term need for extra support, whether it’s a short stay in sheltered housing while you recover from time in hospital, or help in learning how to cook again after an illness, such as stroke. It’s not about us doing it for you – instead we give you the skills to live independently again.
Living at home
Social work provides services to help you or an older relative carry on living in your own home. Their services include:
- home care which involves someone coming into your home to help you with personal care (like dressing or washing) or practical tasks (like laundry or shopping).
- meals on wheels where we deliver meals to older or vulnerable people in their own homes.
- equipment and adaptations for your home
- Telecare which uses technology like movement sensors to help you carry on living independently in your own home
