Fife Council owns and maintains 158 car parks, 31 of which charge a parking fee. We keep, and regularly update, a register of car parks that we own. We try to ensure that there are enough short-stay parking spaces, and quality Park and Ride facilities, to enable people to gain ready access to town centres. People parking inappropriately may be issued with a parking ticket, the Council is responsible for these and collects the payments.
We also encourage people to use public transport or cycle and walk more often. We can all help the environment and improve congestion by reducing the number of journeys we make with only one person in the car.
